Landing Gear

Each leg was prepared by replacing the scissors link with Eduard photo-etched parts, numbering no less than parts per leg... Lengths of solder wire were added to simulate the flexible brake hoses, and strips of lead foil were used to realise the hose clamps. The U/C legs, bays and doors, whose internal faces were scraped down and replaced with the Eduard parts, were painted in Gunze H67 Blue, and weathered with the same techniques used in the cockpit. The wheels were also prepared at this stage. Each tyre is a combination of two parts, the whole assembly was painted in Gunze H77 Tyre Grey, followed by some lighter shades of grey on the running part of the tyre. The wheel flanges are also in two parts, helpful when it comes to the painting process.
