The oil filter is located on a flange mounted to the engine which also houses the thermostat for the oil cooler. The thermostat opens at a temperature of 87°C.

The pressurized oil for lubricating the turbo-charger branches off at the oil filter flange and flows through a separate line to the bearings of the turbocharger. The return oil flows directly back to the oil pan by gravity.

The oil cooler is mounted directly behind the air ducts in the front spoiler.

Operation: With engine oil temp, lower than 87°C the thermostat is in the position shown in the drawing.

The oil pressure at the oil cooler supply (3) and return (4) lines is the same, i. e. the oil will not flow through the oil cooler. The oil flows directly to the filter inlet (2). When the oil temperature is up to 87°C the thermostat begins to close the filter inlet. The oil is now
