Undo only if rear-axle trailing arm, wheel bearing or wheel hub is to be replaced. Loosen nut before raising the vehicle. Actuate brakes when undoing the nut.

Replace after each removal. Coat threads with Optimoly HT. Tighten to 500 Nm (369 ftlb)
